[HARAS] MOVIE REVIEW : CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

           The Willy Wonka starring Johnny Depp is the inventor of the world’s best selling chocolates and candies has decided to open his factory up afterr more than fifteen years. He has hidden five golden tickets in the wrappers of the chocolate bars. Whoever finds a golden ticket will win a tour of his factory, a life-time supply of chocolate and possibly a surprise beyond their wildest dreams.

The first ticket is eaten by Augustus Gloop starred by Philip Wiegratz, the second is taken by spoiled-little-rich-girl Veruca Salt starred by Julia Winter, the third by champion-gum-chewer Violet Beauregarde starred by Annasophia Robb, the fourth by television addict Mike Teavee starred by Jordan Fry, while the fifth golden ticket remains no one until the day before the tour.

Charlie starring Freddie Highmore lives with his poor family in a shack not far from the Wonka factory and has always dreamed of meeting Mr. Wonka. However there appears to be little chance of that until Charlie finds some money, buys a bar of chocolate and had the chances on the last remaining ticket. With Grandpa Joe starring David Kelly at his side, Charlie joins the small group preparing for the tour once  in a lifetime.

As the group walked its way through the factory, the kids are greedy and are not well behaved after seeing various type of chocolate surrounded them . The only one unaffected is Charlie, which leads him to win a prize beyond anything he could ever have imagined.

         There are many messages hidden in this film. Firstly, wherever it may lead you, you should be true to your heart and follow it. Secondly, good things come to those most deserving and finally that there is no underestimating the importance of family.

With schools, media and various corporations, they should encourage their children of healthy eating, attitudes and lifestyles. Parents may wish to discuss the importance of making healthy eating choices with their children.

[SURAYA] RAYA CELEBRATION

          Night before Aidilfitri, my family and I drove back to our beloved hometown in Negeri Sembilan. Along the journey, we sang Hari Raya songs happily to lighten our mood up. A few hours later, we arrived at grandparent’s house safely. I could see my grandparents and siblings were waiting for us along the stairs. I felt very excited at the thought of meeting my long-distance cousins and sharing our stories together. Later on, we helped each other making ketupat palas and rendang while the aunties cooked dishes at the back of the kitchen. As we were busy preparing for tomorrow’s food, the men decorated the house while the kids played firecrackers happily at the backyard. That night went fast.
      

          The next day had begun and it was the first Syawal. I woke up early and took a shower. The thought of celebrating Raya Aidifitri with my bigger family make me feel so excited. I help my aunties and my mom to prepare the Raya dishes. Later on, all of us started to dress up in our new Raya outfits. The theme for this year Raya outfit was dark purple and I could see everyone looked beautiful and gorgeous wearing kurung, kebaya and baju melayu. After that, all of us started asking for forgiveness among us. Then, we started our car to go to Masjid Seremban 2 to perform Solat Sunat Hari Raya. 
         
          After performing our prayer, we decided to visit our neighbours. I was amazed by the decorations of their houses. There were colourful lights hanged up here and there. Then, we went back to the grandparent’s house and continue with our Raya activities. We ate a lot as there were various type of dishes such as rendang, ketupat, lontong, lemang, serunding and kuih raya that we prepared last night. Like always, my favourite dish on Hari Raya must be the infamous Mak Teh’s Rendang Tok. After finished filling up our stomach, it was the time for us to receive Duit Raya from the elders. This year, all of us need to sing one Hari Raya song before getting our money. It was embarrassing for me as I was the first person to sing it. Although I was the eldest among the others, I enjoyed watching my little cousins laughing and smiling upon receiving their money. We sang, ate and shared our stories together. I could not forgot the memory that we created together and I could not wait for the next year Raya celebration!

[DAYANA] REVIEW A PRODUCT : BOKITTA VOILA! HIJAB

          Last weekend was my 18^th birthday. Being 18 years old is not an easy task. Everything around me has changed. I look much older than I used to be, I do not need to wake up early to go to school and mostly, I do not need to wear uniform every weekdays. I am happy and satisfied with my new life, but there is one thing that I am still at worst handling it, and it is to wake up early, dress up and get ready for college. That is why my mom decided to give me a pair of ‘ready-to-wear’ hijab as my  18^th birthday present. How I wish I could realise it earlier. Hence, I decided to review and tell my opinions about this amazing product.

          The amazing product that my mom gave me is Bokitta Voila! Hijab. Bokitta released their first “ready-to-wear” hijab under their line two years ago and they get a lot of good feedback.  The concept of their hijab is ‘ready-to-wear’ hijab, that is mean the hijab can be worn without the need of any pin. The hijab is pre-stitched, hence we can wear it under 1 minutes. This concept really help me to cut my time off on getting ready to college. At the college, I don’t need to worry about losing any pins on my hijab as it is pre-stitched or spending too much time on fixing it as the hijab is suitable for any face shape.

          Bokitta claims that they choose only the best material for their hijab and give the best quality to their customers. The moment I wear it, the scarf is super comfortable and light weight.  Bokitta Voila! hijab is made from 100 percent breathable cotton. thus, it wont make us sweating as the air can pass through it. This is one of the benefits that I need as the travelling from my house to the college took quite some times. In addition, I don’t need to iron the hijab every morning as it does not need to be iron.

          Bokitta hijab promised to update their line to the latest trends and style. At the moment, they already have more than 30 colours and 70 patterns. Thus we can pick any colour and patterns to be worn with any outfits and is suitable for daily basis or any types of occations. Although the scarves are very stylish, they meet the requirement of covering the aurah properly. Hence, it is prayer friendly.   

          The range of price of The Bokkitta Voila! Hijab is from RM 79 to RM 200. Although it is quite pricey, but the quality, style and trends are appropriate for the price. The scarves are light weight but heavy duty. It is very convenient for travelling as they are light, does not need to be iron and pins.

[HARAS] CHALLENGES IN LEARNING ENGLISH

English might be a popular language to learn, but this does not mean it is a simple language to master. Hence, learning English is mandatory for us in Malaysia to upgrade its economy and become a developed nation. Now, various official matters have been using English. But, there are many challenges people face when learning English. Moreover, Bahasa Malaysia has become our mother tongue language, so we don’t have the opportunity to practice it.

The first challenges that I face in learning English language is using grammar such as nouns, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs correctly. It is tricky to use the correct grammar. We won't be good at it unless we practice it, but we will only be practicing it in school as we often use our first language to communicate daily . Grammar is very important. Incorrect use of grammar can confuse the person we are speaking to and even change the meaning of what we are saying, what is more if the listener is good in English, they will notice immediately if we make an error.

Next, vocabulary is always a challenge to me. English has one of the biggest vocabularies of all languages. It can be very confusing to master. Moreover, using the wrong vocabulary in writing or in conversation is noticeable and will weaken the text.

As we have different races here in Malaysia, all of us did use our own language to communicate. Depending on the first language of a person, it is always difficult to pronounce certain words properly. The variations of English too is difficult to understand. For example, the differences between using formal and informal language or the differences between spoken and written language. This always leads me to be using the wrong forms of English in conversation nor writing.

English language is one of the most popular languages to learn and maybe the most spoken language around the world. Many people choose to learn the language to get better position to get job or communicate more effectively with more people from around the world. Hence, I will be reading more books and watch more English documentary programmes to improve my English.

[ALL] UNFORGETTABLE FIRST DAY IN KPTM KUALA LUMPUR

               On the first day of college, I woke up quite early, took a shower, had my sahur and a chat with my roommate. I got ready as quickly as possible, in order to catch our Sidek bus that would take us to the college. Along the way to our destination, I had mixed feelings – all anxious to experience my new life in college and wondering on what type of people I would be surrounded by, whether they are easy to get along with, whether they are helpful and nice. Suddenly I was fascinated by the colour of a building that stood tall in front of the bus. I was thinking what could it be, not knowing that was the premise where I would be spending my next three years there.

               Walking through the gate, I was telling myself, this is a new chapter in my life, I have to be independent unlike those days in school when most of the things were guided by parents and teachers. Entering the orange building, I overheard seniors sharing their moments during their semester break while lecturers and students exchanged greetings. They seemed so comfortable with each other. On the other hand, I was feeling so all alone not knowing where to go since I did not know the location of my class. Furthermore, I did not know anyone there. I look all around me when I noticed a security guard telling a student to wear his identity card. Then I realized even though we don’t have any specific dress code, it was compulsory for us to wear identity card wherever we are within the compound. Then, I came across someone that happened to know where my class was.
  

               As I entered my class, I saw emotionless faces. I did not know what to expect from them. So, for a moment I decided to be alone and sat at a corner in front of the class. I observed that boys were easier to get along with each other than girls. Suddenly, a girl sat next to me. This is the perfect chance for me to make friends, so I gathered my guts to greet her and introduce myself.  She responded.  After a while, a young lady entered the class. At first, I thought she was one of us. When she started to stand in front of the class, greeted and welcomed us before briefing on the course contents and all, I realized that she was our lecturer. In school, we could differentiate between students and teachers by the way we dressed but here in KPTM, we are free to dress as long as we stick to the rules and regulations of the college. Among the things she emphasized on was there would not be any spoon-feeding anymore as we were used to in school. She gave us advices and tips on how to excel in whatever we do. Everyone seemed motivated by her talked. Later, the emotionless faces when I first entered the class turned to happy faces as one by one introduced ourselves to the class. Since then, we tend to know each other better.

               We dismissed on the first day eager to face the upcoming days with more experience. Before going back to our hostel, I decided to have a look around the college to familiarized myself with the facilities available, so that it makes my times there easier. Finally, for the first day I walked to the gate again to hop on to Sidek bus that would take me back to the hostel with a new goals and determination to strive for the best at KPTM KL and to have good friends as the saying goes “you are who your friends are”.  The first girl that sat next to me is my best friend so far.
